The location setting of Yogyakarta Hadiningrat royal household can be found from the names of several streets around the Ngayogyakarta Sultanate palace. The streets that located in the Njeron Beteng area (within the Ngayogyakarta palace complex) still can be witnessed now. These street’s names are given by abdi dalem (Royal Servants)’ skill as it were their residence to handle the daily affairs of Royal household.
These street names are Mantrigawen Street, Gamelan street, Namburan Street, and Siliran Street in eastern South Square, and Nagan Street and Patehan Street in west of South Square. Mantrigawen Street was the residence of abdi dalem (Royal Servant) who are the Palace chief Officer, Gamelan Street was the residence of horseshoe makers. Siliran Street was the residence of abdi dalem silir who served lit lamp. Namburan Street was the residence of who played the gamelan. Patehan Street was tea maker’s residence. The last is Nagan Street, it was a residential place for Javanese gamelan orchestra players.
Now, the head of royal household affairs of Ngayogyakarta Sultanate is holded by KGPH Hadiwinoto. He leads several tasks related to Royal Family daily affairs, such as:
