GKR Bendara and KPH Yudanegara Perform the Last Procession

GKR Bendara ’worshipping’ to Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X

Yogyakarta, KerajaanNusantara.com – The last procession of Great Royal Wedding between GKR Bendara with KPH Yudanegara is Pamitan (farewell). The procession was held in Kasatriyan Ward and Gedong Jene (19/10).

Before performing the procession, GKR Bendara departed to invite KPH Yudanegara in Kasatriyan Ward. There have been waiting KPH Yudanegara, KPH Yudanegara’s parents, and several relatives of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate, among of them was GBPH Prabukusuma.

The bridal couple entourage then walked heading to Gedong Jene passing the courtyard of Kencono Ward. There Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, GKR Hemas, and the four daughters, namely: GKR Pembayun, GKR Condrokirono, GKR Maduretno, and GRAj NurabraJuwita, have been waiting in Gedong Jene.

The first event in the procession of Pamitan was giving some advices from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X for GKR Bendara and KPH Yudanegara in building a family. The Sultan gave advices about how to stifle their ego and how to keep an integrity and self-esteem. "If we lose our live, basically we have lost some, but if we lose our honor, in reality we have lost everything. Therefore, I reminded to keep your honor, either the honor of your family or your own family", said Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.

After the Sultan delivered His advices to the brides, then it was the chance for the groom party represented by Tursansi Alwi to give some advices. In regard of the groom party, Alwi Tursansi expressed his thanks for the cooperation from all parties in supporting the implementation of the wedding. In addition, he also expressed his apologize if they have done some mistakes related to the royal customs since they have not experienced yet. Whereas the advices for GKR Bendara and KPH Yudanegara, he congratulates both of them and pray for their happiness to make a new family.

After given some advices, the brides continued with performing the ritual of Sungkeman (worshiping with respect) to both parents. GKR Bendara performed the ritual first and followed by KPH Yudanegara to Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and GKR Hemas. Then it was continued to both parents of KPH Yudanegara. Finally, the procession of Pamitan ended with a warm-hearted of each family.

Pamitan (farewell) is the last procession conducted by GKR Bendara and KPH Yudanegara for royal wedding since 16-19 October 2011. In the procession, KPH Yudanegara also asked permission from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and GKR Hemas to bring his wife, GKR Bendara to Jakarta, his current place of working. In addition, Pamitan is also a form of devotion and request for blessings of both parents.
