Titles of Nobility for Relatives or Royal Family

The titles of nobility are commonly used by people in the environment of Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate Palace starting from the King who rules or the Royal family, sons or daughters of the Kings, Royal officials and even for the group of people who serve in the Sunanate including all Royal servants. Here are some descriptions explaining the titles of nobility in Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate Palace, which consist of:

  • The King or Susuhunan who soverigns entitled “Sampeyan Dalem ingkang Sinuhun Kanjeng Susuhunan Prabu Sri Paku Buwana Senapati ing Alaga Ngabdulrahman Sayidin Panatagama Kaping...” (according to the number sequence of Kings started from His Majesty Pakubuwono I).
  • The Empress of His Majesty Pakubuwono entitled Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR), under the sequences: Ratu Kilen (Queen of West) and Ratu Wetan (Queen of East).
  • The wives of His Majesty Pakubuwono (concubines) entitled Kanjeng Bendara Raden Ayu (KBRAy), under the sequences: Bandara Raden Ayu, Raden Ayu, Raden Mas Ayu, Mas Ajeng, and Mbok Ajeng.
  • The heir of Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate or the Crown Prince entitled “Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Anom Amangku Negara Sudibya Rajaputra Nalendra ing Mataram”.
  • The sons of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the Empress beside the Crown Prince when at young age entitled Raden Mas Gusti (RMG).
  • The sons of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the Empress beside the Crown Prince when at mature age entitled Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran (KGP), under the sequences: Mangkubumi, Bumi Nata, Purbaya, and Puger.
  • The sons of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the wives (concubines) when at young age entitled Bendara Raden Mas (BRM).
  • Especially for His Majesty Pakubuwono’ sons born from the wives (concubines) entitled Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Hangabehi.
  • The sons of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the wives (concubines) when at mature age entitled Bendara Kanjeng Pangeran (BKP).
  • The grandsons of His Majesty Pakubuwono from the male line entitled Bendara Raden Mas (BRM).
  • The great-grandsons of His Majesty Pakubuwono from the male line entitled Raden Mas (RM).
  • The daughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono from the Empress when at single entitled Gusti Raden Ajeng (GRA).
  • The daughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono from the Empress after getting married entitled Gusti Raden Ayu (Gray).
  • The oldest daughter of His Majesty Pakubuwono from the Empress when at mature age entitled Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR), under the sequences: Sekar Kedhaton, Pembayun, Maduratna, Bendara, Angger, and Timur.
  • The daughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the wives (concubines) when at single entitled Bendara Raden Ajeng (BRA).
  • The daughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the wives (concubines) after getting married entitled Bendara Raden Ayu (Bray).
  • The oldest Daughter of His Majesty Pakubuwono, whom born from the wives (concubines) entitled Ratu Alit.
  • The granddaughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono and the other female descendants from the male line when at single entitled Raden Ajeng (RA).
  • The granddaughters of His Majesty Pakubuwono and the other female descendants from the male line after getting married Raden Ayu (Ray).
  • Vice regent (Patih Dalem) of Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate entitled Adipati.
  • District head (Bupati Mancanegara) of Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate is also entitled Adipati.
  • Bupati, Bupati Anom, dan Kliwon Sepuh who serve for Surakarta Hadiningrat are given the title Tumenggung.
  • Panewu and Mantri who serve for Surakarta Hadiningrat are given the title Ngabehi.
  • Head Official Palace (Pengageng Paprentahan Kraton) of Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate is also entitled Ngabehi.
  • Petinggi, Demang, Lurah, Bekel (the officials of village) are entitled according to the departments.

Mungkin ada informasi tentang putra putri Pakubuwono I ? Dari id.rodovid ada 10 anak, tapi dari buku sumber lain ada 12. Diantara yang tidak tertulis tapi disebutkan dalam salah satu website adalah Arungbinang (Kebumen). Dan saya punya catatan seseorang bernama RTM. Kertonegoro di Ngawi (mungkin bupati III) apakah anaknya juga atau cucunya ? Terima kasih. Mungkin bisa memberi petunjuk kemana mencari informasi tersebut.

Saya sangat kagum dengan tingginya budaya Keraton Solo, dan kerajaan kami di Kelungkung pada masa Paku Buwono X sangat erat hubungannya, dan PB X pernah berkunjung ke Bali untuk menjalin hubungan persaudaraan dengan Raja-raja di Bali.

Apakah ada anak selir jaman dahulu yang dibuang? Seperti manusia jaman sekarang? Apakah anak selir tetap diakui sebagai anggota kerajaan? Apakah ada perbedaan kasta pada anak selir dan anak ratu?
